Does SMS cost extra? Do I need to buy credits?
No credits to buy. Surehand sends texts through your phone's own SIM, using your existing unlimited texts. If you're currently paying £40-50/month for Textlocal or similar, you can stop. For larger operations needing bulk SMS, we're adding Twilio integration soon.
Can I import my data from CleanerPlanner or Squeegee?
Yes, we can import your customer list, job history, and pricing. You don't have to start from scratch — your round comes with you. Get in touch and we'll help you migrate.
I already have customers on GoCardless — do they need to re-authorise?
No. You can transfer existing GoCardless mandates to Surehand. Your customers won't need to do anything — their Direct Debits continue as normal, just managed through Surehand instead.
Can I manage multiple rounds in different areas?
Yes, create as many rounds as you need. Organise by area, day of the week, or however works for you. Switch between rounds easily and see everything in one calendar.
How does Direct Debit work for regular customers?
Through GoCardless, you send customers a secure link to authorise. Then payments collect automatically on your chosen date each month. Perfect for fortnightly or monthly customers — no more chasing. Available on Pro and Crew plans.
Do customers get their own login?
Yes. The Customer Portal lets them view upcoming cleans, check invoices, update payment details, and request changes. It's branded to your business and cuts down on calls and messages. Available on Pro and Crew plans.
How does weather rescheduling work?
Select affected jobs or entire rounds and move them to another day with a few taps. Optionally send automatic notifications so customers know you'll be there on a different day.
How does Surehand help with Making Tax Digital?
Surehand syncs directly with Xero, which is HMRC-recognised for MTD. Invoices and payments flow through automatically. When April 2026 hits and MTD for Income Tax kicks in, you're already sorted.
Is WhatsApp messaging available?
WhatsApp integration is on our roadmap and coming soon. For now, you can send SMS through your phone's SIM at no extra cost, which most customers respond to quickly.
Can I block out holidays so jobs don't get scheduled?
Holiday blocking is coming soon. You'll be able to mark dates as unavailable so jobs automatically skip those days. For now, you can reschedule affected jobs in bulk.
Can I use Surehand to value my round if I want to sell?
Yes. Surehand gives you clear data on round value — customer numbers, cleaning frequencies, average job values, payment history. Everything a buyer would want to see.
